A heart warming story in today's Gulf News, that regrettably did not make the online edition. A German-Australian couple, given six month suspended sentences for the seedy crime of "french kissing in public." Despite their desperate pleas that this form of outrage was acceptable in their home countries, it is reassuring to see the Vice and Virtue authorities holding fast to their principles and protecting us from such obscenity.

A SHAC colleague has a similarly delightful anecdote, of a holiday fling couple caught in flagrante on a remote beach at night time. They were given two options: permanent deportation, or marriage. As the man wished to stay and work here, they got married. And immediately divorced.
