Dubai gets Wired
Interesting article in Wired.com about Dubai - "The Road to Tech Mecca". A good example of the sort of frankness the UAE is going to increasingly have to accept with growing internationalisation and press freedom:
"Of course, there are downsides to Dubai's openness: The city-state is a hub for some of the region's shadier practices. Various materials smuggled out of Pakistan for Iran's nuclear program came through Port Jebel Ali, which is also a nexus for narcotics smuggling. And while Dubai has never had been plagued by fundamentalist militants, a lot of money earmarked for militant causes has been channeled through its financial institutions."
