Tight trousers
An amusing exchange, when an angry and upset Abu Dhabi resident writes to Gulf News to complain about a mobile phone ad:
" I was surprised to read Alcatel's advertisement (Gulf News, October 3) stating: "I'd love to get into your pants." The wording is inappropriate and I cannot see how it relates to the mobile phone advertised for, or any other mobile phone in the market for that matter."
Alcatel's response:
"The rationale that your esteemed reader seeks is simple: this particular mobile phone is a very slim line model and hence fits easily into the tightest of trousers, a fashion consideration of real relevance to our trendy, young customers, for whom the phone is becoming the talk of the town.
