What is the strange construction going on next to Mercato Mall? Several tall palms have been planted behind a rather ugly square arch, topped with a large sculpted hand.
The thumb and forefinger are joined in some apparently occult, possibly Buddhist sign.

I think that is the New Buddha Bar that is opening soon!
the buddha bar is being opened up this year or early next by the son of lebeneses Dj Claude Challe, but here in dubai ofcourse it will be without the buddha.

Buddha Bar will open this month up at Grosvenor House, Dubai Marina. According to all reports, it will be like the one in Paris, including giant buddha.
