A right royal ride

Buried in the deep impenetrable depths of the KT is this absolute 24-carat nugget of a story. The tortuousness of the prose actually adds to its appeal. It concerns a beauty salon owner, conned out of a Dh 7,000 bill by a royal impostor:

"The bill was for decking up seven girls from head to toe, who were brought to pleasure the man during the night at Le Royal Meridien Hotel."

The salon owner, Dr Alka, was told that to get her money, she needed to visit the fake sheikh's hotel room, described as "a place with loud music and obscene videos on the TV":

"There I was introduced to this young chap occupying suite number 628. He looked like a teenager and glancing at the girls, he told me that he was damn impressed," Alka explained.

Dr Alka waited all night at the hotel, and eventually bumped into an "elderly" lady who had chaperoned the girls to her salon. She also hadn't been paid for the girls she supplied.

"According to Alka, the old lady in her fifty's took her to room number 1009 where she found three girls of the same lot sleeping. "I was told that those girls were rejected by the young man because their hair was not nice."

Dr Alka was dropped back at her home by a henchman in a red BMW, still being promised payment. It never came, and the "prince" and his henchman disappeared without trace.

Interesting that Dr. Alka goes through several sex changes during this episode. At least as your post is currently edited.

Garthicus - that's hilarious. You should give it to Samuraisam because he loves having fun with these scammers!

Balushi has a good point - some people are way too gullible. But it's all what they want to believe, or what they're told, because they don't know any better.

Even simple things like a big yacht that was in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel marina - we were told that it belonged to Sheikh Mohammed by all the JBH staff. We knew that it wasn't his! And did you know that every helicopter that lands on the Burj helipad is carrying Sh. Mohammed too? :-)

I get so many email scams - the last good one that I got was from Yasser Arafat's wife trying to get money out of Palestine! :-)
