A sensitive and private matter

Does anyone know what the difference is between "private parts" and "sensitive parts"?

Abu Dhabi: A man who squeezed the private parts of an undercover CID officer thinking he was going to attack him has been jailed for six months followed by deportation.

ABU DHABI ā€” The Supreme Federal Court has upheld the verdict of the Sharjah Shariah Court of Appeal sentencing a man to three months in jail for touching the sensitive parts of another man.

Is there any reason they can't simply be called genitals?

The other thing is the difference between "squeezing" and "touching". The man was in trouble for "touching" another man's genitals, not causing an officer bodily harm. So his squeeze needs to come under scrutiny.

Self-defence or seduction? More after the break.

The difference between "private parts" and "sensitive parts" is 3 months. The difference between "touching" and "squeezing" - well it depends very much on how hard they are squeezed - believe me. Anyway it's all a load of bo----ks.

I guess the explanation would be that some private parts are sensitive, some parts are private but lacking in sensitivity and others are sensitive but not so private.

Maybe it's an attempt at journalistic accuracy?

Bah humbug! This is not journalistic accuracy but the kind addition of the translators and/or proofreaders who happened to grab this news story by parts.

When, Where, How, Why.

These are the normal questions I would want to get some proper answers to in an news article.

The paper must respect the privacy of the involved parties, but also shed some light into details and hence articulate the article well.

Per the Al Khaleej article - "The public prosecution charged Ritsyan B. with sexual assault and demanded that he be punished in accordance with the Islamic Shariah Law and the Federal Penal Code" should they change that to the "Shariah Law and the Federal Private Parts (or Sensitive Parts)Code?

Come on guys.

This is Dubai. We have to respect their social, cultural and religious values.

Therefore we should refer to the nether regions as "sensitive" and/or "private" (except in the case of the flashers who make their privates very public).

I can just imagine the spittle flying in the culture and information ministries if the word genitals ever appeared on the front page of Crappy Times.

Well, 'genitals' would be too offensive, now, wouldn't it? And people would complain. Like they always do.

Hmm still don't see why everybody here is so bothered with their choice of words?!
I guess its just another thing to complain about...

I don't think people are so much 'bothered' about it, it's just pretty funny how they go out of their way to say anything BUT the 'naughty' word.

Last time I checked most people reading newspapers were educated enough to understand the word 'genitals' and mature enough to not go over the top about it.

It'll change soon enough, just as a few years back Gulf News and the like used to write 'brown liquid' instead of alcohol, or beer.

Sometimes when making an effort to make something sound more acceptable it just sounds so much worse, for instance;
ā€œSHARJAH ā€” An Arab Gulf girl student of Class XII of the Sharjah-based Al Marrifah International Private School has been dismissed by the Sharjah Educational Zone for allegedly photographing herself with her video-camera inbuilt mobile in a compromising and indecent position before showing her pornographic pictures to her classmates."

I think just saying she posed nude for a camera would've been better than saying 'indecent position'.

I know that there are religious + cultural sensibilities, but this isn't exactly raw cutting stuff, I think if you get offended by the single word, genitalia, you'd be better off not reading any newspaper.

Shouldnt you guyz be discussing "IS THE SENTENCE GIVEN TO HIM FAIR?" Squeezing CID's parts or genitals or whatever not knowing he is a officer of the so called uae law. Does he deserve to be thrown out of country ?!

Guys, this was my story, rather I should call it as my destiny. I am still alive just for my family especially for my wife and 2 years old son. Like any other human being, I love them. This case was created by CID officer Yousef Mohd. Abdulla and his companion Shaheed, when they realised that I will lodge a complaint against them for torturing me with sexual intention on main street. Just to protect their skin, they degraded and humiliated me. From Sharjah Mudiriah even the top level CID officers used abusive language on me. They were calling me Gandoo, asking me, do u need my dick? etc. They prepared some documents in Arabic and forced me to sign threatening me that incase I do not sign they will insert their finger in my ass. They never asked for my ID Card. First question was religion.
