Naked gridlock

Ever wondered what men wear underneath their dishdashes? These lucky motorists found out:

Man stuns motorists on Shaikh Zayed Road

Dubai: Motorists on Shaikh Zayed Road were yesterday stunned to see a nearly naked man walking in the middle of the road. Dubai Police detained the UAE national.

No wonder they were stunned. Given that Sheikh Zayed Road alternates between bumper-to-bumper gridlock and 200mph wacky races, walking down the middle is some kind of miracle. This streaker should be beatified.

Found out about this first hand. A few of my colleagues were called in by the cops as they were witnesses to this and were also accused of taking pics of this naked guy.

GN reports that the man was 'unstable' and was lost. If they what they reprt is true, we're in no position to mock him. The newspaper is also not justified in printing pics of the mentally deranged.

If that was in the UK, you'd get an Arts Council grant for performance art.

I commend the man for at least keeping his slippers on.
The naked fella who chased my sister and I through a street in Bombay, had a shirt on and nothing else.

Would have been better if he was reading William Burroughs as well.

That's not the middle of the road.

That's more like the periphery, where he belongs.

totally agree with archer and ladyonthetop. Rather insensitive to ridicule a man who has obviously come undone.

Lucky the fellow wasn't hit by some Jacques Villeneuve or Michael Schumacher blazing down the desert's infamous autobahn to hell...

You guys are pethetic and GN are sick people. Cheap expatriate - white trash - will make fun and news of a clearly mentally sick person. Shame on you and have some manners.

Did anyone give him a narcotics test? Or do the police just assume anyone who acts irrationally is 'mentally unstable'?

It's no secret that the UAE has quite a problem with serious narcotics easily available these days.
