Bigwigs from exotic locations wielding numerous glossy brochures but scant free media tickets are roaming wild through the city, dragging the unwilling to their booths and press conferences.
By a stroke of luck, entry into the VIP majilis is achieved for an award "photo opportunity" between a couple of uber-Sheikhs: the Citibank one and the airline one. By an even more brilliant stroke of luck, they leave in a swish of white robes - retainers hurrying behind - after no more than thirty seconds.
Leaving the gleaming platters of sheikhly cakes and dates set before them totally untouched. Succulent squares of dark chocolate brownie. Fresh blueberry petit-fours. Strawberries dusted with pure gold leaf.
