The comely camel

Camels are indeed winsome beasts, beloved of artists and sculptors, and even entering their own beauty contests. Small wonder then that a man might become so enamoured of his ship-of-the-desert that he hoists its rigging rather more literally than the law allows:

Ras Al Khaimah: A man has been sentenced to three months in jail after pleading guilty to charges of bestiality.

The camel involved in the case is to be put down in accordance with Islamic law.

Hot, sandy tears must be shed for this Romeo and beast-Juliet of modern times:

The official added the man told the prosecution that he had fallen in love with the camel and had sex with the animal.

Just saw this news in gulfnews. I don't know much about law here, but is it logical to kill an innocent animal? Or was it some sort of smart camel.

It seems that RAK should twin itself with Seattle:

The dead man was identified as a 45-year-old Seattle resident. According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, he died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon. The man's death is not being investigated because it did not result from a crime, Urquhart said.

The Seattle Times

It's sick in both cases though.

So, apparently Pasado's Safe Haven is more concerned that it is not natural for the animal? And the lovely couple next door also seems to think that the horsey doing the man is just not right, but the other way around is OK? Or at least normal for Enumclaw (trust me, you'd have to know the place to understand that it is normal for Enumclaw)....

But was the camel in love with this man? Or was the love unrequited?

Sheesh.

You can love your camel, but you can't love your camel. OK, I admit it, RAK again, but it still doesn't beat the story I read in the local paper while living in Kuwait.

The police were called to the zoo after a disturbance was heard one night. Upon arrival they arrested a young man who was caught in the act of performing an unnatural act with a pelican.

hahah ,... a Pelican ??? ... that's too funny. My Imagination runs wild ..

On a serious note ... Why put away the camel ??? ... I suppose she must have seduced the dimwit!!..

Oh ... the things that i dont understand !!!

Tariq - thanks for your comments. The aim is more cynically sometimes amused, sometimes frustrated than negative. The camel story was absolutely hilarious, I've been on the phone with friends laughing about it. Though when it comes to the hell of GITEX, it's hard to find a good word - except for hooray it's over!

Is that cheeful enough?! ;)

Let's turn to the Source... Bryan Adams:

"When it's love you give
(I'll be a man of good faith.)
Then in love you live.
(I'll make a stand. I won't break.)
I'll be the rock you can build on,
Be there when you're old,
To have and to hold.

When there's love inside
(I swear I'll always be strong.)
Then there's a reason why.
(I'll prove to you we belong.)
I'll be the wal that protects you
From the wind and the rain,
From the hurt and pain."

... Ah... a man and his camel... (blinking back the tears)... It's just so... so... Romantic! (waaah!!)

What difference does it make where he was from?! Yes, the act was horrific, but his ethnic origin bears no relevance here, you bigotted fool.

This sort of sickening fornication occurs all over the world (sadly). In "foreign lands", you can even find "films" on this subject, at the back end of shady video stores.

Maybe he was influenced by all the bestiality/porn spam that EIM seems to trash our way...through no fault of their own ofcourse.

Anyway, this still happened in the shitholes of RAK. Nuff said.

And before anyone starts to trash the local culture or religion... here is a passage from the Bible:

Leviticus 18:23 - And you shall not lie with any beast and defile yourself with it, neither shall any woman give herself to a beast to lie with it: it is a perversion.

Liviticus 20:15-16 - If a man lies with a beast, he shall be put to death; and you shall kill the beast. If a woman approaches any beast and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the beast; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them."

Of course the camel is to blame...it was completely naked, thus seducing the man....

....but animals don't mate outside their species, do they?

*scratches head*

P.S. Note to Anon@9:48:

"Before anyone starts to trash the local religion.........(etc)"

Your knowledge of the Bible must be extensive, since you had the quotes from Leviticus right at hand. Perhaps, to put things in perspective for the sake of the rest of us, it would be pertinent to mention that the verses quoted are from the section that details Old Testament Mosaic Law.

Would you know of any major current religious or other grouping that observes Mosaic Law in its entirety? Certainly not Christianity, for example, to which Mosaic Law does not apply.

03 October, 2005 10:31
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who gives a shit about outdated laws? What's the point in calling people out on some misquoted, arcane, non-applicable laws. The bible, as well as other such books written by HUMANS has its fair share of ridiculous, even contradictory laws that I won't bother getting into here.

The point is that this guy had sex with a camel. Some people say kill him and the animal. Some say kill the animal only. Some say kill him, put the animal in jail, but only if said incident happened on Friday...or any combination of the above, ad infinitum.

Personally, I don't give a shit what people do in the privacy of their homes/barnyards, as long as nobody is harmed. And I would much rather some weirdo get out his sexual frustrations on a big, dumb, apathetic animal than rape a young helpless girl.

Hey,lets have some perspective here people. These days its pretty hard to find that special someone, especially in Dubai. You work 'til six, fight rush hour, you're home by eight, and sleep round eleven. This is ATLEAST a five day a week routine. The only places you can meet people are bars, malls or at work really. Its just that, in this particular case, the workplace happened to be a barn.

I just feel once you've found that special someone, you should really try hard to make things work, no matter what society thinks.

By the way, is rape an actual concept in the animal kindgom, or is it pretty much "first come first serve"?

And I think he got this from his origin.
candy popper I think it make different to us, we don’t need the ppl to think that ppl from RAK do this so you have to say where is he from unless you are from BANGLADESH it self.
And plz don’t say shitholes to RAK…

if you want someone to respect RAK at least let there be a reason, so much weird shit happens there, like this for instance, what do you want us to say?

Seeing as the camel got put down when the bangladeshi mounted it, what if the camel mounted the bangledeshi? would they put him down?

I'd like to think that UAE nationals are dissuaded from shagging camels for reasons other than it being prohibited by their religion.

I'd also venture to suggest that certain things outlawed by religion are practised by some of its followers in the UAE.

In short, this story is nothing to do with religion and everything to do with shagging camels. As a Welshman, I have a certain connection with the whole affair.

SD and Samuraism: Thanks for covering my back.

Rakster: I wasn't 'ranting' that the deviant's nationality was mentioned - I was ranting about the fact that a certain "anon" (who shall remain nameless - doh!) was implying that people of certain ethnic origins indulge in this kind of behaviour. How and why does that even matter?!
p.s.: still think RAK is a shithole, but then I guess i've been swallowed by the bling of Dubai, so I'm being unfair. RAK's great for fishing and its got pretty mountains. :)

Anon: P*ss off.
There are plenty of urban tales about local farmers and their unsuspecting farm animals - so get off your high camel (no pun intended).

The vast majority of Bangladeshis are Muslims and I have never heard of any similar cases in Bangladesh.

This case is that of a disturbed individual, his religion and origin have nothing to with it, even though you seem to know his origin better than Bangladeshis themselves.

Indeed they do :) Mules are the most common example of such a mating (horse/donkey), but examples abound across the animal kingdom. ("Species" is an increasingly poorly defined concept anyway)

Hi, I just discovered this blog. So hey everyone! Ok now about this whole camel issue.. the man lover was probably inspired by the following story:

A priest and a nun were alone and got lost in the desert. All they had was a camel with them. Soon they realized that the camel was going to die.. and hence, so were they because there was no sign of civilized land.

The story goes that the priest wanted to fulfill his lifelong wish of seeing a naked woman. So he asks the nun, "Before I die, I'd like to see you naked. Would you take off your clothes?" The nun decides she wants to see a man without anything on as well. The priest obliges and both get their wishes fulfilled.

The nun examines the priest and says, "What is that in between your legs?" ..to which the priest proudly replies, "It is a gift from God. If I put it inside you, it would give new life!"

The nun gets the deepest spiritual awakening of her life yet. She opens her eyes wide and screams back to the priest, "Then put it inside our camel!!"
