Well, i guess after Qatar airways and AD's Etihad's successes in launching its own official airlines, Oman's off to create their own or perhaps reclassify it's oman air and offer wider reach to compete with emirates and other fast emerging international carriers.

The way you put it, it's very sad.
However, there is positivity too (yeah, even here..) in the form of the success of the individual countries' airline ventures.
I expected Gulf Air to be scrapped after Qatar or AD branched out, or for it to be bought out by Etihad or maybe even EK.

exactly WHAT arab unity are you talking about?
I would rather fly saudiairlines... gulf air service is the most crappy in this part of the world..it used to be 'benchmark' a decade back...hmmmm
what has this to do with Arab Unity SD?
