Kylie UAE terror plot
There could surely be no source in the world more reliable or well-informed than the greatly respected Daily Star newspaper, so Kylie Minogue may want to consider wearing a kevlar miniskirt when she performs at the Atlantis in November:
Spies have reportedly uncovered a terror plot involving Kylie Minogue's forthcoming gig in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the Daily Star, British spies are investigating a threat to the concert, which is scheduled to take place at the opening of the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai on November 20.
"We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the United Arab Emirates," a British Embassy spokesperson is quoted as saying.
"Attacks could be indiscriminate and could happen at any time, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers."
Meanwhile, journalists who long ago sold their souls for free "seven star" hospitality are raving about the wonders of the sandlands' latest superhotel.
Longer time expats sadly remember the days when one could sit among the shady palms on the Ritz Carlton beach, with no cranes lighting up the night sky behind and before. The days when the sea was a black infinity lit only by the moon, not by the garish concrete splendour of endless Palm Islands and skyscrapers.

On a side note, I think in 10 years time from now, to get another "..est" in Dubai, they have to throw Bin Laden naked himself in a cage for public view to draw some attraction :D
I'm sure all this would be washed off by a hurricane caused by global warming which is in turn fueled by all the petrol they burnt for building these stupid structures in the most ridiculous place on earth. This will be called natural "recycling".
Didn't the Brits say there was gonna be a terror attack in the summer also? Why should we believe them?

I, for one, don't doubt the credibility of this threat, any threat that is disclosed by an external source. No matter how modern/moderate the view, what lies beneath is still a Police State. As for the current threat, well they're asking for it with all the superficial glamor & unethical practices thinly masked by religion. Essentially, these people have to choose; excessive glamor / bling or religion. Neither can co-exist without a conflict. It's the law of specifics in today's world. You can't have both and play pretend that all's swell in LaLaLand PERIOD
As for marketing their excesses in worldwide media. It makes me wonder if they really have any takers for these excessive packages at some of the big names (The Atlantis, Burj Al-Arab, Madinat Jumeirah, The Emirates Palace in Abu-Dhabi) or if they're just a sham? Not to belabor the point, I mean seriously, who the devil in their right mind would go for these absurdly priced hokey hospitality pleasures? Unless their occupancy lists vermin infestation such as drug & arms dealers, white collar criminals and those siphoning state wealth that rightfully belongs to its citizens?

I've known some people are quietely getting out their cash now out of UAE and i've heard some stories, people who speculated in the real estate sector are getting desperate to sell now but there are no takers.
How long can they hold out?
Real Estate? Apparently prices are already droping and people locked into mortgages they cannot repay will simply walk away. Foreclosures will happen. This market is long due for a price correction and if you have the cash and are bold enough to buy there should be some juicy properties for the taking.
Real Estate.. They have very effective measures to keep the rent up thus the real estate prices. 1 villa 1 family! Very soon 1 villa 1 person .... soon 1 person in every other villa. So on and so forth! And with the power that they weild they ban all bad things from entering this safe haven. These include deported labourers, bad guy with bangers to Tsunamis and earthquakes.
Lord save us from our protectors!

Dear Westerners/White People,
I am constantly dumbfounded by the utter lack of objectivity whenever the subject-matter is turned to the Arab countries you people live in.
It seems the placates of Fraternité, Egalitè, Liberté are reduced in an instance to a mere marketing plot, ego boosters the equivalent of which can be bought and sold in the most ramshackle of markets.
I actually googled the story. Ironically, the papers which have reported the unfortunate start are Emiratis. Both the National and Khaleej Times (The Indian as well, which is perfectly understandable) ran stories on the sorry state of affairs and the horrid organisation.

I have been reading this Blog, along with the written by the Ukrainian woman, for quite some time. The constant tenor is that you people are demanding a betterment, a change, in every field and area there is and I agree in many areas with you (Labor is a point that sticks out along with a strong market reform).
However, the only change you are unwilling to deliver is a change in your own standards. If you want to report a story, ANY story, stick to the facts, research the incidents involved and refrain from the Old Ladies Tea Party standard that serves you and the white supremacists that occasionally hover on your comments section.
Change yourself before you demand change from others!
Start first with the abuse of labor within the white expatriate community who come from nations that already have labor laws protecting the workers in those nations. Or are your ideals as dispensable as your underwear, if you choose to wear any!
Oh, I forgot, these laws do not protect the nearly 6 Million (by some estimates) illegal laborers on your fields, the sex slaves from the former Soviet blocs and countless others who do the jobs you will not touch.
Again, I am not holding the Arab world or the Gulf region as a prime example in anything but cruel and inhumane treatment of workers. However, I am just flabbergasted at the fact that you are willing to travel thousands of kilometres, while knowing perfectly well of the situation there, and yet you complain when your own countries (which are democratic) are not better in many areas!

The white supremacy is not a natural accident.. its a cycle that goes on and on...Whites are dominant at this point in time. Blacks/browns have been dominant and will rise again only to fall back in another 500 years
The people on the top become complacent and sink lower, the people below work harder to be on the top and rise....All natural and just as the nature intended to keep us busy :)
